Darling
We were a wonderful possibility.
A way that spurned your abstinence
And fueled my persistence.
It caught on like night and day.
No one interfered,
Nothing did influence
The weak urge to claim ourselves!
A possibility worth growing for
Such that the flowers that grew in orchards
Smelled of our graveyards.
And stingy deterrents scooped at
The tiny stem of our bones
Sprinkling the ashes beyond redemption.
Your smile worked wonders on
My clock and it greeted seconds
With pleasures illustrious than decades in
Self-indulgent tick-tockness!
My faithless travels brought
Misspelled equations of symbiotic longing
Quieting your impulses for my beating
Inches away from your heart!
Blue grew in your eyes as skies
Left pleasant fearing the clouds,
As do peacocks who thrive for that air
Tethered to their beauty and fate!
When our eyes met speaking non-sense
I kept my hand steady and heart brooding
While you searched for a blink
To run away with that memory captured.
